Samadhi Magic Personified

Samadhi Magic Personified

Dear Samadhi Yogis,

I’d like to introduce the “glue” that holds this operation together:  The Samadhi Desk Sangha!

It is my honor and privilege to direct this “symphony” we now call Samadhi Yoga Sangha.  As we all recall, “non-essential” businesses everywhere came to a screeching halt when Covid arrived.

I was nearing my 5-year anniversary of running Samadhi Center for Yoga, when we were among the first studios in town to conscientiously close to “flatten the curve,” for “just a couple weeks,” we said. “Be right back,” we hoped.  It was nearly impossible to find answers to the endless questions brought by global pandemic.

I might have been the one to originally coin the term “Samadhi Magic,” though it’s quite possible I wasn’t the first to name it.  “Magical” is the best way to describe this organization when it literally feels like it’s held together by positive energy. When things could, even should, go awry, they just don’t.  Someone, or some grace, always comes through in a little or big way to save the day, or more.

Logically, I know this “magic” is the manifestation of countless caring people who share their time, talent, input, intention, praise and prayer within these exquisite rooms.  Yet, I swear there is an omnipresence that holds Samadhi’s proverbial hand, seeing it through, notably in 2020, as if to say, “not this year, Covid...”

Soon after sending the announcement of Samadhi’s then-imminent demise, a dedicated student came forth who hoped to help.  Like many, he did not want to accept this loss and see the community displaced.  Over a year later, as if waking from a strange dream:  Samadhi Yoga Sangha rose from the ashes!

And, now, we’re here for you:  Samadhi’s leadership team, who you can rely on to support and serve your wishes for your yoga practice.

Though infused with the usual magic, rebuilding all systems to reopen during a pandemic was not the easiest undertaking. Yet overall, the selfless ways in which we all converge here with the wholehearted intention to help in any way possible, is something very special.  Two of the faces you see here, Tracey and James, banded together while the studio was closed, came in voluntarily to chant, smudge and clean the space.  They exemplify a recent appearance of Samadhi magic, just one of many such stories.

To me it’s no coincidence who’s drawn toward Samadhi for the turning of this page.  These stellar humans are more than a front desk staff: their love of the studio shines brightly and is a wonder to behold.  I trust that all who’ve found our way here are meant to be here now.  And, our circle will continue to grow, transform and invite more souls, perfectly timed.

Thanks for reading my Samadhi story; I’d love to hear yours, too. I have received many messages over the years sharing how these practices, in this place among this community, have changed lives for the better.

From the bottom of my heart, and the collective heart of this team, thank you for your part in the magic. May we continue to defy the odds in the post-quarantine small business world. May we keep on seeking wisdom inside ourselves, together on our mats and in our minds, supporting one another and our shared vision with authenticity and grace.

Namaste, Om Shanti,

Emmi
